Minesweeper for Excel – Early version

I’ve uploaded another little creation of mine – Minesweeper for Excel.  It’s a fairly simple implementation of the game and pretty buggy in places but on the whole I’m happy with it.  It only works properly on the large grid at the moment as I broke the small one adding some functionality the other night and haven’t got round to fixing it.

Anyway, broken software aside it’s pretty good and I’m chuffed that it pretty much does the same as the Windows implementation using just worksheet cells and some VBA.  It’s yet another way of showing exactly how versatile the application is and what can be done with it.  It’s worth checking out some of the code, named ranges and the conditional formatting on the grid as there’s some pretty useful techniques to pick up there.

I invite you to have a go at fixing it/tidying it up and commenting/emailing back.   Send your responses to admin@2toria.com.
