Everyday I learn something. We all do. Here are the things I’ve learned day by day.

Things I’ve learned today

  • Sometimes being assertive can be useful, even if it is out of character.
  • Synaptics touchpad gestures are pretty cool on my new work laptop.
  • I’m getting a little too excited about the Big Brother evictions…

  • Quite a lot about using VBA to do spreadsheety stuff, and that it can be a pain in the backside getting things to work the way you want them to.  I did finally manage to get things working the way I want, but I lost my temper quite a few times during the process.
  • A little bit about CSS, but not enough – my next big challenge I think.
  • That perseverance does pay off if you just keep on trying (kind of related to my first point)

Things I’ve learned today

  • Sometimes you can spend an entire day worrying about things that aren’t going to happen.  And they don’t.  Time to stop worrying and live in the present.
  • That thing you’ve always wanted to do but somehow feels out of your grasp actually isn’t.  You’ve just got to put your mind to it and work on it and if you believe in yourself enough, it will happen.
  • Jeremy Kyle once had a pop at Robert Downey Jr for commenting on Lorraine Kelly’s boobs.  Not really a learning experience, but it made me chuckle.

  • That if, just before I get up, I visualise a day where I’m productive it seems to work.  Might not do tomorrow, but I’ve definitely got more done for a Monday.
  • How trackbacks and pingbacks work, and how they form an explanation about why traffic to 2toria increased massively after last Thursdays post about the iPad.
